The Art of Hand-Blown Glassware
The art of hand-blown glassware is a centuries-old tradition that marries craftsmanship, precision, and a touch of magic. At Fancy Glass, we take pride in upholding this art, creating glassware that is not just functional but also a work of art.
Our journey begins with the selection of premium materials:
-Crystal Clear Glass- : We start with the finest crystal clear glass, known for its clarity and brilliance.
– Mineral Particles- : To infuse our glassware with color and character, we use mineral particles of various shades.
”The Process”
1. Gathering:
The process starts by gathering molten glass on the end of a blowpipe. This molten glass is created by melting high-quality silica sand, soda ash, and limestone at extremely high temperatures.
2. Shaping:
Our skilled artisans shape the molten glass into the desired form, carefully considering the type of glassware they are crafting.
3. Color Infusion:
To create the distinctive colored specks and patterns, mineral particles are introduced into the molten glass during the shaping process. As the minerals meld with the glass, a symphony of colors and shapes begins to emerge.
4. Blowing:
The artisan then blows air gently through the blowpipe to expand the glass, giving it the intended shape. The amount of air, timing, and skill play a crucial role in defining the final design.
5. Cooling:
Once the desired shape is achieved, the glassware is placed in a carefully controlled cooling oven. This annealing process slowly cools the glass to remove any internal stresses, ensuring its strength and durability.
6. Cutting and Polishing:
After the glassware has cooled, it is meticulously cut and polished by hand to perfection. This process enhances its clarity and brilliance.
7. Quality Inspection:
Every piece of our hand-blown glassware undergoes rigorous quality inspection. Our artisans carefully examine each piece to ensure it meets our standards of excellence.
